Cinema and Technology a Perfect Blend
Cinema today is not just a mode of entertainment. It has grown out and has loads of techniques and ways to be followed. The essence of cinema is still the same but the only change that has occurred is the way it is produce and presented to the audience.
The beginning
Cinema began with the coming of the silent movies of the late 1890 and early 1900. This period was the silent era of the cinema when top artists like Charlie Chaplin dominated the screen even without any sort of sound or music or dialogues. It was the actions that spoke for them. Then with the passing year music and sound was added in to the moving picture. The credit of discovery of cinema can be give to either Limier brothers in France and to Thomas Edison in the United States of America.
This initial phase of the motion pictures began, in the late 1890s and 1900s, which were more emphasized on reproducing human motion. While the second phase was more in story telling, which began to emerge around 1900s. Film makers now had moved beyond the technical aspects of just showing motion and began to tell stories.
Edwin Porter's film, 'The Great Train Robbery' released in the year 1903, is a good example of the story telling nature of films. It is the story about a robbery, which has a chase scene and at the end an inevitable capture of the robbers.
Use of Technology
Motion pictures did bring in the life of an actor live on the screen, but at the same time it did grow with the time. Sounds were integrated in to the cinema itself and with the coming of sound in the year 1927-28, control of the industry shifted to a six studios over all namely Paramount, Loews, Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, Universal and Columbia while few others emerged in the year 1930s. These companies didn't control the whole cinema industry but they controlled distribution and productions.
Gradually Black and white turned in to colour, and today we have animations, graphics and other forms of technology been used to produce cinema.

Motion picture today can't be always made in the controlled environment of indoor studios. It requires natural settings.
